It’s no secret to my followers how fond I am with fonts and icons, and visuals in particular. So I am so thrilled about this story introducing you to my favorite Sans Serif font families.

Sans Serifs are a very modern and casual element of UX design. They are usable in almost any type of product design, depending on the cause and concept of the product of course. However, in some places, Sans Serifs are not a very good choice like in News Papers websites headers, book titles, Ads, and commercials.

Anyhow, this story is about my favorite 8 Sans Serifs, so let’s get right into it ;)

the first one is Futura which has 22 styles, which is something to be considered because this gives you a variety of options for font weights and allows you to differentiate and put emphasis on different text elements in your design. It is a very elegant family that can be manipulative at the same time. This is a very good choice for formal products like book apps, blogs, and so on. You can get it for free via Adobe here https://fonts.adobe.com/fonts/futura-pt

Next is Montserrat which has a kind of playful look but still can be used in a formal context. This one has 18 styles and can be downloaded from Google fonts here: https://fonts.google.com/specimen/Montserrat?query=mon#standard-styles

Gilroy is a very geometric and modern font family and comes in 20 styles; however, only 2 of them are free. The rest of the weights are licensed and have to be purchased. You can get it here: https://tinkov.info/gilroy.html

And here comes my ultimate favorite, the one that has been rising and dominating modern designs recently. Poppins is a strikingly clean and modern typeface with 18 styles. And the best part is, they’re all free of charge and can be downloaded from Google fonts here: https://fonts.google.com/specimen/Poppins?query=poppins

Another favorite that I came to know lately is Nuckle. Oh how I love this one. It’s so modern, clean, easy on the eye, elegant, and so attractive. It can be perfectly combined with Poppins for an awesome-looking UI. You can get it here: https://heavyweight-type.com/fonts/nuckle/detail

Moving forward, Nexa is also a very popular font family with very curvy and bubbly character styles -I love how the g letter looks in it!- Get it here: https://www.myfonts.com/fonts/font-fabric/nexa?tab=familyPackages

Last but not least, one that is not very known is Hellix. I think I am one among very few designers who are aware of this font family because I haven’t seen quite many people using it. This is also a modern-looking family, quite similar to Poppins; however, a bit narrower and more condensed which is good for spacing. You can get it here: https://displaay.net/typeface/hellix/

Thank you for getting so far in this article, I appreciate your time and I hope I’ve presented some valuable info to you :) See you in the next story!
